Prasing God musically!

Psalm Souls, is a group of young people with a common purpose of praising God musically and a common course of taking praise and worship to a higher level. This group of young, talented singers use their melodious voices effectively as instruments to bring praise to God above and listening pleasure to all around them. These young people have a desire and passion for music, a group of young people who love God, who are all out to worship Him in song. Coupled with this passion is the energy and willingness to bring joy, hope and a smile to those who are broken hearted, in need and hopeless by the ministry of song. The name Psalm Souls was revealed to one of the choir members after much praying about it and it is taken from the book of Ephesians 5:19 (speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts of the Lord.) also in Colossians 3:16 (Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.) teaching and admonishing are to be present in even in song, song is to have another object than to please the ear, it is not only for enjoyment but edification with hearts saturated by the love of Christ. The leader and the co-founder of this talented group is Mrs Z Mtshali, who works tirelessly together with the committee with as much to shape this fresh talent.

The vision of the Psalm Souls Choir is to bring people into the presence of the God, to inspire and uplift people spiritually by song, melody, praise and worship. “We believe that we can do that if we ourselves are like-minded, disciplined in one spirit and purpose. UNITY and FRIENDSHIPS is their motto.” They draw strength and courage from Psalm 133:1-3. (Where there is unity God commands the blessing) They believe in dedication, excellence and selflessness are absolute necessities and true vehicles to achieve their vision.

On a yearly basis Psalm Souls hosts a vibrant musical concert which boasts different genres of gospel music from different groups. The objectives are to strengthen the relationships with other churches, youth choirs and musical groups, to bring young people who love the Lord together in celebration and praise and to raise funds for the group.
