LET US GO TO THE OTHER SIDE

Intro:-    Hebrews.10:35-38.  Confidence = Firm trust! Boldness!

               Romans.8:28.  “And we know----“  Knowledge born from experience.

   Mark.4:35-41. Crossing over – Moving on!  About the Lord’s business!

   Deut.1:1-8.   Lack of faith – The price 40 years wandering compared to 11 days

                        No confidence – Indecisive – Lack of will and trust in the Lord.

                        v.7. “You have dwelt long enough at this mountain”

                        Move on!!! ------ TIME TO LEAVE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

 

  1. 1.      Mk.4:35-41.     Jesus is about to teach disciples a great lesson – Moving forward.

Cross over to the other side – Trusting the Lord when facing storms of life.

  1. a.      Jesus made the decision – “Let us cross over”.
  2. b.      He enters boat – the disciples follow.
  3. c.       Jesus is absolutely confident in His Anointing! Calling and Purpose!
  4. d.      Suddenly a violent unexpected storm =  opposition
  5. e.      Jesus sleeping – At rest in His confidence
  6. f.        Disciples fearful (several fishermen among them) Wake Him!
  7. g.      As a man, not God! Stands up and rebukes the storm!

“Peace be still” – immediately a great calm – Lit: Muzzled.

 

  1. 2.      Mark.4:40. “How is it you have NO FAITH?”

Matt.8:26. “Why are you so fearful? O YOU OF LITTLE FAITH! (TIMID)

Luke.8:25.  “Where is your faith?” IN ME!

 

n.b. Disciples are being taught nothing can stop or hinder Christ doing the will and purposes of God. They are both fearful of and marvel at Him! Lit: BEYOND BELIEF!

 

Ephesians.3:20-21. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the POWER THAT WORKS IN US, TO HIM BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH BY CHRIST JESUS THROUGHOUT ALL AGES, WORLD WITHOUT END AMEN!”

 

  1. 3.      Luke.8:26-39. Once across, Demoniac of Gadara is delivered from torment and healed. 
    1. a.      Gadarenes afraid ask Jesus to leave – No argument, He will go –where needed!
    2. b.      Their money income is more important to them, than Jesus ministry. Too busy!
    3. c.       What else could He have done for them? Offered salvation, healing, delverance
    4. d.      Lesson to Disciples, if people reject you MOVE ON TO THOSE IN REAL NEED.
