1. Psalm.133:1-3. Unity = Blessing
Proverbs.14:4 a. Oxen = Strength to do the task.
“ = Usually yoked – lead animal. Matthew.11:28-30
“ = An abundant harvest.
“ = Ploughing the land for the SEED of the word.
Manger = Stable – Oxen will produce mess on the floor.
n.b. Any move of the Holy Spirit will not always be clean and clinical as many think it should be.
2. Mark.2:1-12 & Luke.5:17-26, v17d. “And the power of the Lord was present to heal them”
a. House (church) in Capernaum.
b. Jesus is preaching and teaching. Pharisees and Scribes are also in the house listening. Crowded both inside and outside!
c. Luke.5:17d. “The power of the Lord was present to heal them”
d. No one inside aware of the HEALING POWER PRESENT AMONST THEM – INSENSITIVE.
e. The atmosphere was right for the MIRACULOUS! NO RESPONSE!
v.3-5. Some men – Know Jesus in town – Go and find paralysed friend!
a. THEY RESPOND POSITIVELY – BY FAITH – MUST GET HIM TO JESUS.
b. DETERMINATION! EXPECTATION!
c. Way is blocked!
d. FAITH LOOKS PAST THE SITUATION – TO FIND THE ANSWER
e. ROOF – BREAK THROUGH –LET DOWN THEIR FRIEND TO JESUS FEET.
f. IMAGINE JESUS LOOKING UP –SEES THEIR DESIRE
g. IMAGINE THE SCENE –DUST AND DEBRIS EVERYWHERE.
h. JESUS SEES AND RESPONDS TO FAITH – V.5.
i. v.6-7. Typical response of those under the law – Forbidden! Who is he?
j. v.8-12. JESUS IMMEDIATELY RESPONDED – REVEALS HIS AUTHORITY.
Conclusion:- The effect is visible to all – One healing brings many blessings. A move of the Holy Spirit will not always be as you may expect – Unusual things will happen.
There will always be some on the inside, who respond to the presence of the Lord, others will doubt and be critical. Unfortunately there will also be many on the outside that never make the effort to get to Jesus.
