1. Tithing:- a. Act of love – Shows trust in the Lord!

b. Is God’s plan to finance the Lord’s Kingdom!

c. An act of worship!

d. Opens heavens windows – for blessings

e. Brings peace to the obedient!

f. Reveals that real giving starts after tithing.

n.b. To say Tithing is under the Law, is to say the Law is more powerful than the Cross.

Three kinds of givers:- Illustrate

a. Stony hearted – Can be hammered, chiseled, nothing comes out!

b. Sponge - Must be squeezed, harder squeezed more comes out!

c. Honeycomb – Honey flows out blessing others. Continues producing!

2. Facing your giant of unbelief:- Giving???

a.1.Sam.17:25-27. King Saul’s promises to the man who defeats Goliath.

i. Daughter in Marriage = Position and personal wealth!

ii. Tax exemption for fathers family = Extended family.

n.b. REQUIRED FAITH TO FIGHT, DEFEAT GOLIATH AND THEN RECEIVE THE PROMISES.

Some would even try to walk on water if they expected Tax exemption, etc. Or

something for nothing

b. Gen.12:1-4. Abram must step out in FAITH to RECEIVE PROMISES.

i. Gen.14:18-20. Hebrews.7:1-4. Tenth of all! Melchizedek.

c. Gen.28:10-22. Jacob, God’s stairway to heaven. He appears to “J”

i. v.13-15. The Lord’s assurance and promises to Jacob.

ii. v.20-22. Jacob conditions, first bless, then I will tithe?

n.b. Typical of many who want to the Lord’s blessings and provision prior to giving!

d. Malachi.3:8-12.

v.8. Rob = To defraud. In tithes and offerings.

v.9. Under a curse – you rob Me I will deprive you.

v.10. Whole tithe – into storehouse = Local church.

i. Test Me in this! Says the Almighty.

ii. Do it and I will open Heavens floodgates. Eph.3:20-21

v.11. Protect your crops – work situations

v.12. Everyone will then see the Lord’s hand is upon you.

Conclusion:-

Tithing starts under GRACE with Abraham.Romans.4:16, continues under the LAW through Moses, returned back under GRACE by Jesus Christ. John.1:14 &17. Grace and truth!!
