1. Matthew.7:7-11. Luke.11:9-13.
a. Ask! Your heavenly Father
b. Seek Your heavenly Father
c. Find Your heavenly Father
d. Knock Your heavenly Father - The door will be opened -Answered.
2. What is your priority?
Wife! Husband! Wealth! Prosperity! Business! House! Vehicle! Etc.
Because we want answers to our questions, we focus upon our needs, what we
think are PRIORITIES, hoping God will provide what we want. We can ask God
for what we want! - BUT WHAT DOES HE WANT FOR US?
GOD WANTS US TO SEARCH FOR HIM - THE ANSWERS LIE WITH HIM
EMPHASIS IS TO BE UPON GOD AND HIS PLANS FOR YOUR LIFE - NOT
WHAT WE WANT OR IMAGINE WE NEED.
“We have a tendency to be waiting for God’s promises, rather than working towards
those promises”
3. Jeremiah.29:11-14a. Tend to look over what this passage is really saying, due to
pre-conceived understanding of the scripture.
v.11. God already knows the plan and purpose He has for our lives.
a. “Plans to prosper and not harm you” = Our welfare
b. “Plans to give you a hope and a future” = present hope - future destiny!
n.b. If God already has plan and purpose, then we need to know His plan for our life!
The Lord is really trying to get their attention to “Prioritize” ON HIM, HIS WILL!
v.12. a. Then -When we grasp the fact His plans are more important TO HIM
than ours!
b. When light of understanding breaks through in our minds. Eph.1:17-18.
***** THEN!
c. You will call to Me
d. Pray to Me
e. And I will listen to you.
n.b. Note it is when we are doing what the Lord wants for us - Then He listens!
v.13. Theme continues from v.12.
a. You will seek(to search for) Me - His presence and His ear
b. and find Me - absolute vital necessity.
c. When you seek (to follow, praise worship) Me with all your heart.
Psalm.42:1-2.
v.14a. “ I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and I will bring you back
from captivity”
John.8:31-32. Freedom through His word - Sets us free from our own desires. We
can be captive to our own will and desires.
n.b. The Lord will allow circumstances to continue against us until we seek/search for
Him and His will, plans and purposes for our lives! Resulting in delays!
Conclusion. Jesus. Luke.22:42 “Father -- not My will but Yours be done”
Psalm.37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm.106:8-11 & 24-25. Leanness to the soul, when we put our will first.
Matt.6:33, Seek first the Kingdom of God -all these things will be added to you v.25-32.
Lesson: Don’t read what you want to read or see in the scriptures!
With every promise there are conditions
